Ford Otosan established the corporate venture capital company ‘Driventure’ to bring new generation technologies to life with the Turkish venture ecosystem. Driventure, Ford Otosan’s venture capital firm, will develop new ideas and technologies with initiatives focusing on mobility (smart mobility), connectivity, autonomous technologies and electric vehicles. Haydar Yenigün, General Manager of Ford Otosan, said:
“Since 2009, $ 260.6 billion has been invested in startups in the ‘smart mobility – mobility’ field alone, with another $ 41.1 billion added in 2020. Being out of this process means not being able to respond to customer expectations and being late. As Ford Otosan, we see that in order to be successful in this new mobility and smart production environment, companies must make changes at an unprecedented pace and adopt new business models and applications. In this direction, we have been closely following both the initiatives within the institution and the local and international enterprise ecosystem for a long time.

Ford Otosan Innovation and New Initiatives Director Gül Ertuğ said, “Within Driventure, we plan to develop collaborations with start-ups and entrepreneurs in 6 focus areas: autonomous technologies, connected vehicles, customer experience, smart mobility, industry 4.0 and electrification. ‘Optiyol’, which is one of the first investments of Turkey, offers efficient and practical route plans as a new generation route optimization solution. Optiyol solutions are expected to be used in Ford Otosan’s heavy commercial brand Ford Trucks and final delivery solutions. Another important investment of the company is ‘Bluedot’, which offers smart mobility solutions that bring electric vehicle drivers and charging stations together. Working with the mission of creating an electric vehicle and charging station mobility for more sustainable and clean cities, Bluedot is also working on a software solution for the electric transformation of fleet managers.
