Luca de Meo, CEO of Renault Group, shared information on the electric vehicle strategy. By 2025, the Group will benefit from electric vehicle platforms by introducing 10 new electric vehicles, 7 of which are Renault. The Renault 5 will be produced by Renault ElectriCity in northern France with the new CMF-B EV platform, from the battery to the electric powertrain and assembly. Groupe Renault will also make a strong move to the all-electric C-segment with the new MéganE. Also introduced in January, Alpine’s “dream garage” is coming true from 2024.
Environmentalism is at the forefront
Renault aims to offer the most environmentally friendly product range of the European market with more than 65 percent electric and electric assisted vehicles in 2025 and up to 90 percent electric vehicles in 2030. The group is also developing the CMF-EV and CMF-BEV platforms with its 10 years of experience in the field of electric vehicle platforms. The CMF-EV platform for the C and D segments offers enhanced driving pleasure. This platform will represent 700,000 units at Alliance level by 2025.
CMF-EV offers a WLTP range of up to 580 km with low energy consumption. The new industrial ecosystem will create 700 new jobs by the end of 2024. Groupe Renault, together with AESC Envision and Verkor, will create 4,500 new jobs in France by 2030.
