A car that was 100 thousand TL on 1 January 2020 increased to 185 thousand TL by 15 November 2020. In the period from this date to March 2021, prices decreased by 20 percent on average.

While the year 2021 started very active in terms of the zero vehicle market, the used vehicle market started the year so quietly. Husamettin Yalçın, General Manager of Cardata, a data and second-hand pricing company evaluating the market in the light of current data, said, “The figures realized in the first two months of the year are indicative of the trend towards zero vehicles. However, there are a few things to note at this point. The following have been experienced in the process until today; A car that was 100 thousand TL on 1 January 2020 increased to 185 thousand TL by 15 November 2020. In the period from this date to March 2021, prices decreased by 20 percent on average. The biggest reason for this is the decrease in demand. At this point, we expect second-hand demand to rise again due to warmer weather, relaxation of pandemic restrictions, increased vaccination and the start of vacation plans. For consumers, I can say that the current period is the best time to buy a second-hand vehicle. Now is the time to buy a second-hand vehicle, as it is an advantageous period.
“Our market estimate is around 850 thousand pieces”

Cardata General Manager Hüsamettin Yalçın, who also gave information about the zero vehicle market in his evaluation, said, “The elimination of the supply problem caused automotive sales to remain very high in January and February. On the other hand, the driver of the vehicle appetite in Turkey still continues. The need for individual mobility brought about by the pandemic continues in this direction. In this context, I do not think that the market will fall below 50 thousand in March. The developments experienced are very promising for the automotive industry. Turkey everything can change at any moment, but when we look at the automotive market, today and tomorrow, we anticipate the market will rise 10-15 percent of which closed in the last year, 770 thousand pieces of tape. In other words, we estimate that the domestic market will close at 850 thousand units in 2021 ”.
