As of March, hybrid versions of both Vitara and SX4 S-Cross models were offered for sale in our country. Suzuki Vitara Hybrid family attracts attention with prices starting from 296,900 TL, while the SX4 S-Cross Hybrid model is sold with a turnkey sales price of 306,900 TL. Both models are offered with a 1.4-liter Boosterjet turbo petrol engine with 129 PS with intelligent hybrid technology combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Suzuki Brand Director Şirin Mumcu Yurtseven said, “While the share of diesel vehicles in the market is decreasing, we see the rise of electric and hybrid vehicles. Last year, sales of self-charging hybrid cars in Europe reached 1.2 million units, an increase of 59 percent compared to the previous year. The total market share of these vehicles across Europe increased to 12 percent. In this context, we believe that hybrid vehicles will increase their market share exponentially as of 2021. In our country, although not as much as in Europe, there is a significant breakthrough in electric and especially hybrid vehicles. In Turkey, more than 23 thousand hybrids and electric cars were sold in 2020. Hybrid sales increased 85 percent compared to 2019. As we mentioned, although the market is still at low levels, the upward trend in electric and hybrid vehicle sales will continue ”.
Suzuki Brand Director Şirin Mumcu Yurtseven said, “When we look at 2021, we have left behind a three-month period in which the demand in the domestic market increased in terms of the automotive market. We anticipate that the demand in the market will continue to increase as the weather gets warmer and the pandemic conditions improve. During this period, hybrid vehicle sales gained significant momentum. As of the end of February, 7 thousand hybrid cars were sold and the share of hybrids in the total market increased from 3.8% to 8.7%. This is really a very important development. Hybrid vehicles until the end of the year, we believe that market in Turkey reached a significant level. In this context, we expect hybrid vehicle sales to exceed 25 thousand units at the end of the year ”.
The product range is completed
Yurtseven continued his words as follows; “Now Vitara and SX4 S-Cross hybrid sales in Turkey with the launch of the SUV market and became one of the most important players. The 2021 Global Automotive Consumer Survey conducted by Deloitte reveals that Turkish consumers make purchasing preferences in the triangle of safety equipment, economic price and fuel savings. According to the research, we offer 4 of the first 5 features most demanded by consumers in all models and versions as standard. To mention these features: Automatic Sudden Braking, Blind Spot Warning, Navigation and Lane Keeping Warning System. As Suzuki, we are actually responding to the demands of Turkish consumers with our hybrid product range. The first step we took with our hybrid Swift Hybrid transformation in Turkey. Swift Hybrid continues to attract attention with its fuel savings of more than 20 percent, standard safety equipment and affordable price. Now, we are introducing our new models to the market by reinforcing our hybrid breakthrough. Together with Vitara Hybrid and SX4 S-Cross Hybrid, we complete the Suzuki hybrid family. We want to be assertive in terms of price / benefit balance in the market with the standard equipment features and advantageous prices we offer in our hybrid range. “
4 thousand hybrid cars
Suzuki Brand Director Sirin Mumcu Yurtseven, “Now all our models except Jimny will take place as hybrid market in Turkey. We will strengthen the momentum we have achieved with the Swift Hybrid together with the Vitara Hybrid and SX4 S-Cross Hybrid. The period from the end of 2020 to the first quarter of this year was a transition period for us. We believe that we will increase our presence in the market with the completion of the family. Last consumers, as well as environmentally conscious companies that want to change the structure of the hybrid vehicle fleet vehicles in Turkey but also among our potential customers. In this context, we aim to sell nearly 4 thousand hybrid cars by the end of the year. On the other hand, we have offered a limited number of special deals for our loyal customers for Suzuki Vitara Hybrid and SX4 S-Cross Hybrid. We introduced the hybrid family to them with our advantageous barter opportunities. As a result, we pre-sold 100 Suzuki Vitara Hybrid and SX4 S-Cross Hybrid in the first week, ”he said.
48V hybrid technology
Suzuki pioneered the market with the 12V Hybrid system used in all Swift models since 2020. The new 48V Hybrid powertrain system, developed for both the Vitara and SX4 S-Cross models, which have a similar principle, draws attention with its lightweight design and adds less than 15 kg to the total weight of the vehicle with all its components. Suzuki’s new, higher power system includes a 48V lithium-ion battery, an Integrated Starter Generator (known as ISG), and a 48V-12V (DC / DC) converter to power lower voltage equipment such as lighting, sound systems and air conditioning. It consists of highly developed components. Serving as both a generator and starter motor, ISG is belt-connected to the system and supports the internal combustion engine at the moment of acceleration by providing 235 Nm of additional torque from 2,000 rpm to 3,000 rpm. The compact and high-performance lithium-ion battery stores electrical energy recovered during deceleration and braking and feeds the system in the start-stop function managed by the Integrated Starter Generator. The battery and DC / DC converter unit are placed under the front seats to aid weight distribution. The 48V system also has new torque fill control and torque boost features. This solution enhances the driving feel by supporting the torque of the internal combustion engine with the torque of the electromotor during acceleration.
Suzuki Vitara Hybrid
Suzuki Vitara Hybrid; It is equipped with more driving support systems to support driving safety, prevent accidents and facilitate the driver’s life in daily use. Radar Brake Support (RBS) leaves its place to the Dual Sensor Brake Support System (DSBS), which works with a monocular camera and laser radar (MFL), in the renewed Vitara. The system detects vehicles or pedestrians in the driving direction of the vehicle, warns the driver and tries to prevent a possible collision or reduce the severity in the event of a collision. The Blind Spot Warning System (BSM), introduced for the first time at Suzuki, detects vehicles in the blind spot or approaching on either side of the vehicle and warns the driver with an LED warning light and sound when attempting to change lane. Rear Cross Traffic Warning System (RCTA) using two side radar sensors in the rear; It warns the driver visually and audibly on the instrument panel when driving in reverse gear up to 8 km / h or when reversing from parking spaces when approaching a vehicle.
