The off-road racing series will begin with the Extreme E from April 3. A total of nine teams will compete in the event, while the top four teams will advance to Semi Final 1, while the other five teams will participate in the Semi Final 2 – Crazy Race event. The top 3 teams in the leaderboard in Semi-Final 1, and the first and second teams in the Crazy Race will advance to Final One, and the fastest team in the two-day race will be the X Prix winner. The races will be broadcast live on Tik Tok.
Equal gender concept
According to the Extreme E racing series concept, teams of one male and one female pilot will be the first to provide equal gender representation in motorsport. Both drivers will take turns behind the wheel. In the race, former Formula 1 world champion Jenson Button will be behind the wheel of ODYSSEY 21 for the JBXE team. The championship will be accompanied by Continental test driver and brand ambassador Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky. Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky made history as the first and only woman to ever win the Nordic Turing Auto Racing series in 2018.
